In Loving Memory of Woodard Laphell Thomas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laphell “ROC”who departed this life on June 2, 2026 at the age of 64

Woodard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, strength, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He dedicated his life to his family and took pride in the relationships he built throughout the years with friends.

He was born on December 21, 1961 in Waynesville N.C. and spent his life creating cherished memories with family and friends. He enjoyed drawing in his earlier years and spending time with his children and grandchildren in his later years, and will be remembered for his kind heart, and the love he shared so freely.

He is survived by wife-Tiana Sanderson, Dion, Tiffany, Brandon, Corey,Ericka,Terrence, Sherrell, Denisha, Bayla, Jamar and Naaliya grandchildren, brother Harold Eugene “Stoney”and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by Mother-Armelda Baker and Father-Harold Eugene, and Stepfather John Baker.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the legacy of love he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched and in the hearts of those who loved him.
