Obituary
Thomas William Couillard
July 14, 1949 – August 9, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas William Couillard, who
passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 76 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on July 14, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Joan Couillard and Robert Couillard.
Over the course of his life, Thom pursued diverse and hardworking careers that
reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and his leadership skills. He ran several small
businesses with pride and care. He later found success as a real estate agent and
mortgage broker, guiding clients through some of life’s most important decisions. As a
photographer he took pleasure in capturing some of life’s joyous moments. Later in life
he supported other businesses where he used his problem-solving skills that added
value to the companies he worked for. No matter the role, Thom brought integrity,
perseverance, and a strong work ethic to everything he did.
Those who knew Thom will remember his sharp wit and dry sense of humor, which he
carried with him through every state of life. He was famously stubborn-in the best way-
standing firm in his beliefs and always willing to fight for what he thought was right. A
deeply logical thinker, he approached challenges with tenacity and a methodical
mindset, yet never lost his creative spark. Whether fixing something around the house,
dreaming up a new idea, or solving a tough problem he had a unique way of seeing the
world that left a lasting impression on those around him.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Couillard and Paul Couillard, and his daughter-in-law,
Joanly Couillard. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Corban, Jayden, Aaliyah,
Celina, and Lyric, who brought him so much joy. He also leaves behind his sister,
Patricia Mas, and his brother, Joe Couillard, along with many extended family members
and dear friends who meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Robert and Joan Couillard, whom he loved deeply.
May Thom be forever in our hearts.
