Obituary

With deep sadness, the family of Steven L Brescia shares his unexpected passing on June 13, 2026. He was 68 years young.

Born on July 31, 1957, in Englewood, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Richard Brescia Sr. and Rosemarie Brescia. Steven was a graduate of North Hunterdon High School class of ’76. He was residing in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania and enjoying his retirement from Amazon.

Steven was the loving husband of Debra Brescia (Spencer). He will also be profoundly missed by his children: Steven Brescia and fiancée Stephanie, and Heather Brescia and boyfriend Brandon. Steven had many hobbies, but above all else, his favorite was spending time with his grandchildren, Spencer and Summer.

Steven leaves behind his brothers: Richard Brescia Jr. and his wife Jane, Michael Brescia and his fiancée Donna Lee, and Eric Brescia and his wife Andrea. Along with his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brother Edward Brescia. He also will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.

“Big Steve” was a one-of-a-kind man to all that knew him. For anyone that encountered him, you’d certainly never forget him, and surely have a story to tell. From the baseball field to the pool table, he was known as one heck of an athlete. A beloved New York Yankees fan, the world’s most devout Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, an avid fisherman, and most recently discovered an affinity for being a Facebook Marketplace deal hunter. For those that truly knew him, would also know he had a huge soft spot for animals and was the self-designated grill master at cookouts with friends. Since becoming a grandfather, any conversation you had with him always went back to one thing: his grandchildren. He was extremely proud to be a grandpa, and it easily became his favorite title in life.

'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,

And this bird you'll never change.

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

And the bird you cannot change.

And this bird you cannot change.

Lord knows, I can't change.

Lord, help me, I can't change.

Lord, I can't change.

Won't you fly high, free bird, yeah

A memorial service will be held for Steven on a later date.

Condolences

Dad I will miss you so much. I will always remind Spencer and summer of you everyday and make sure they never forget you. I’ve put away the toys that you got them for their birthdays and holidays to remember you by. You were a very smart man and gave me advice that was the right answer every time when I came to you with a problem. Even tho I didn’t always do what you told me to do. I still heard you and knew your answers were the right ones …. You passed along your love of fishing and sports to me. I will cherish being involved with you up until the day I die and see you again.

This man to me was my second father. The times we shared are some of the most precious times of my life. My condolences go to the family and friends of a man who gave everything to others before himself. You are a hero of my life, and you will be truly missed
