Sarah M. (Bair) Neil, 83

Sarah M. Neil, 83, of Fannettsburg, passed away on August 2, 2026, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born January 5, 1943, in Mount Union, Huntingdon, PA, Sarah was the daughter of the late Raymond Walter Bair and Olive Helen Latherow. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ruth (Bair) Briggs, Cloy J. "Bud" Bair, Jim Bair, Raymond "Butch" Bair, Shirley Bair, and half-brother Joseph Latherow; and by her aunt, Blanche (Bair) Browand.

Sarah was the loving wife of Samuel N. Neil. She is survived by her daughter, Susan B. (Neil) Hazard; grandchildren David W. Zeek Jr., Samantha S. (Zeek) Rooks, and Danny Ray Zeek; great-grandchildren Isabella, Savannah, Sydney, and Serenity; and 8 nieces and nephews.

Sarah worked for the U.S.D.A. Fruit & Vegetable Inspection Association of PA at Knouse Foods in Chambersburg. She spent much of her life in service to her community as a member of the Metal Township Fire Police, and had a true entrepreneurial spirit — selling flowers, baking, and building and woodworking projects with her own hands. She loved being outdoors mowing her lawn, tending her garden, and canning, and could often be found with her cats. She enjoyed fishing and playing Farmville on the computer. Her favorite color was blue, and her favorite song was "One Day at a Time." She never missed a chance to listen to the gospel group The Gaither Brothers. More than anything, she treasured the time spent with her family.

Cremation services are being handled by Apyre National Cremation Services. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
