Rosemary Cummings Hurley

August 24, 1940 – March 8, 2026

Rosemary Cummings Hurley passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 24, 1940, to the late Ida (Meisner) and Francis Cummings.

Rosemary was predeceased by her siblings Charles, Marilyn, Anne, Jeannie, and Edward, as well as her brothers-in-law Sal and Larry. She is survived by her loving sister, Fran.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Rosemary’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children Frankie, Dawn, Gus, Charles, and Evelyn. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Adam, Robbie, Nicholas, Megan, Ashley, Brittany, James, Maddisyn, Shane, and Krysta, along with her beloved great-grandson AJ. She was predeceased by her grandson Jonathan, who remained forever in her heart.

Rosemary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will treasure her memory, as well as her devoted friend Jeanine.

Rosemary dedicated many years of service as a school bus driver for the Bayonne Board of Education, where she was known for her care and dedication to the children she safely transported each day.

A devoted Catholic, Rosemary’s faith was an important part of her life. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees and loved cheering on her team.

In keeping with her generous spirit, Rosemary supported charitable organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Rosemary will be remembered for her love of family, her faith, and the kindness she shared with everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Friday, March 27, with a blessing and inurnment at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ
