Obituary

Rose Marie Pocius (née Duca) – mom, memom(grandmom), sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend – of Clarksboro, NJ, was called to her eternal rest on March 15, 2025. She was 84.

Rose leaves behind two daughters, Tina McIntyre (Charles, husband) and Regina DiNovi (Jesse, husband); six grandchildren, Joe McIntyre, Alexa McIntyre, Gianna McIntyre, Nicholas McIntyre, Noah DiNovi, and Michael McIntyre; one soon-to-be great grandchild; family and many devoted friends.

Rose was the daughter of the late Joe and Antoinetta Duca (née Damiano). Sister to Pete Duca, Nick Duca (Ruth, wife) and Bob Duca. Aunt to David Duca, Kevin Duca (Becky, wife), Todd Duca (Amy, wife), Leighann Upshaw (Kurt, husband) and Greg Duca. Great aunt to Mia, Lucas and Quinn. Cousin to Dolores. She was raised in Paulsboro, NJ, and graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1958. For decades, she worked to keep others accountable as an executive assistant at PPG, 3M and Lockheed Martin.

Rose was both funny and sharp, constantly selfless and endlessly thoughtful. She had a powerful ability to love and found joy in generosity and giving. She raised her daughters as a single mom and built a life with family and friends in her community. She was a strongly independent woman and spent much of her life taking care of others.

Rose was warm, and she was kind. She could make a mean pizzelle and a killer apple pie. Ice cream was a necessity, and she loved treating her family to a round as much as possible. Rose would laugh a lot and spill food on her shirt just as often. She loved to cheer on her grandkids at their ballgames, matches, recitals and concerts. She rarely missed one. She would dance the hand jive and loved going to the beach. She would talk about movies and sports, politics and life. She was a constant presence in the lives of those she loved and those that loved her. And boy did we love her.

Rose was fortunate to have so many friends who adored her. Sandra, Elena, Janice and Dave, Lynn, Pauline, Barbara, Doris and Marie.

She wanted the very best for everyone and made sure those she loved always got just that. Rose set the example of what a mom, a memom(grandmom), a sister, aunt/great aunt and a friend should be

My sincere condolences to the family. Rosemarie was always smiling and pleasant. She reminded me of Grandmom Duca, always smiling.
