Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Van Artsdalen, of Dennis Township, New Jersey, passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 72.

Raised in Dennis Township, Bobby had a deep love for the outdoors. Finding joy in fishing, hunting, and surfing—activities that connected him to nature and brought him peace. His passion for music was evident in his love for playing the guitar, he was also a dedicated member of the South Seaville Fire Department. In his younger years, he played baseball for Middle Township High School, creating lasting memories on the field. A man of faith, Bobby attended the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House.

Bobby was a skilled union carpenter who took great pride in his craftsmanship. His dedication to his trade left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Erin (Steve) Keiser-Szabo; his cherished grandchildren—Carly, Steven, John, Christopher, Veronika, and Gianna—whom he was so proud of; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Gertrude and Alvin Van Artsdalen; his brothers, Thomas, Alvin, and Warren Van Artsdalen; his granddaughter, Chloe Keiser; and his beloved parrot, Spike.

Bobby will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As he often said, "It's never a goodbye. Always so long."

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House.
