With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, the family announces the passing of Phyllis Garner, born May 18, 1959, in Jersey City, New Jersey. A devoted mother, treasured sister, and adored grandmother, Phyllis departed this life leaving behind a legacy defined by unconditional love, fierce strength, and an unbreakable bond to family.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Joseph Tillman and Michael Tillman, whose lives were shaped by her wisdom, courage, and nurturing presence. Her spirit lives on through her six beloved grandchildren: Tahmir Warner, Naomi Tillman, Imani Tillman, Michael Tillman Jr., Malachi Tillman, and Joseph Tillman Jr.—each a bright testament to the joy and pride she took in her family.

She also leaves behind two sisters, Adrianne Sheriff and Brenda Wood, and one brother, Dwayne Heath, along with a host of nieces and nephews who knew her as a source of warmth, laughter, and guidance. Her home was a haven, her heart a reservoir of compassion, and her voice a comfort in times of need.
