Obituary

Peggy was the eldest of 7 children. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Franklin J. Diggs aka Butch, and granddaughter Nakia Thomas-Ward. She will be missed by her children: Linda Little, Yvette Goins, Torance Thomas, Mantwan aka Vincent Thomas (Denise).

Her siblings and their spouses: Victoria aka Vickie and Neal McCallum, Frances Priester, Nona and Kim Outlaw, Stephen and Deanna Diggs, and Darlene Diggs-Dozier. She was especially fond of her sister Vickie who was instrumental in making sure she always by her side throughout the years when her health was not so good. Whenever anyone would visit she would always ask for Vickie by name as she would always count on her for emotional and moral support. Her children really appreciated her unconditional love for our mom.

Peggy also leaves her memories with her grandchildren: Nichole Anderson (Carl), Tameca Thomas, Mantwan Thomas, LeAnna Shaw, Jadon Goins, Kevin Thomas, Terrell Thomas, Melissa Thomas, and her adopted granddaughter Maribel Rodriquez.

She also had 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews of whom she was affectionately close with Tawanna Tosado.

What we will miss about our mother is her no nonsense demeanor, there was no hidden agenda said what was on her mind and what you see is what you get 100% real. She loved playing cards and one of the nephews reminded us of how she would say, “study long, study wrong.” My fondest memoir of my mother is her love for music and you can always count on her being on the dance floor and knew the latest dances. My siblings also said that she was the best mother that a child could have. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and later became a regular Pioneer. She truly loved Jehovah and would witness to all whom she came into contact. She played a role in helping her granddaughters dedicate themselves to Jehovah, Nichole, Tameca, LeAnna, and Nakia who fell asleep in death prior to mom. Mom made friends with the brothers and sisters in both the Elizabeth South and Rahway congregations. We look forward to the time when no resident will same I am sick (Isaiah 33:24).
