Obituary

Mark L. Hodnett, age 63, passed away on June 12, 2026, at Geisinger Hospital in Muncy, PA. Born on October 6, 1962 in Somers Point, NJ, he was the son of John F. Hodnett and Claire T. Hodnett. He was raised in Springfield, Delaware County, graduating Springfield High School in 1981. He relocated in 2017 to the Dushore/Forksville area in Sullivan County, PA.

He was a certified auto mechanic, landscaper, and HVAC technician. Mark’s interests revolved around hunting, fishing, gardening, and his dogs. He was an avid gardener spending time in his large vegetable gardens. He loved being out in nature in the Sullivan County mountains, woods, and streams. Mark had multiple Australian Shepherds/Aussies (Dingo, Monte, and Roscoe) during his life as well as a Weimaraner (Mowser). A devoted dog owner, he went nowhere without his beloved companions.

He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Hodnett; Mother, Claire T. Hodnett (Clara Marie Tracy); his half sister Helen Anne Iaconelli, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his sister, Marie Hodnett, his beloved nephew John F. Sheldon, and several first cousins.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the life flight team and his critical care nurse at Geisinger for the compassion and care he received.

Any donations in his name can be made to a no kill animal rescue/shelter, Aussie rescue, the American Heart Association, or Cure HHT. Eighty percent of people with HHT are undiagnosed.
