Obituary

Lee Andrew Obey, III, 75, died on July 23, 2025, at the Horsham Center in North Wales, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose “Marie”, son Marc Berry, daughter Roneale Obey and grandchildren (Evan, Brianna and Ava). He is also survived by his sister, Judy Johnson, nieces and nephews, along with a host of cousins who dearly loved him. He was predeceased by his parents, Lee Andrew and Charlotte Obey, and a daughter Leah Teasdell.

Lee was a member of the Oreland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Although blind for many decades, Lee always made an effort to listen to Bible-based recordings, attended weekly meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and regularly shared in various forms of the ministry. With the dedication of loyal brothers in the congregation, he was also able to be accompanied to homes of interested ones to share in the Bible teaching work. As for his hobbies, he will be remembered for his love of music, especially jazz; and his highlights were the annual fishing trips to Ocean City, MD with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a soft-spoken gentle person who enjoyed the laughter of others.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on

August 9, 2025, at the Ciavarelli Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. Private arrangements for the family will be at their discretion.

To my dear Marie and family. Ihas a funny story the first time I met Lee when he was working on the trash truck in Norristown. . Lee was telling me the story about the fur coat. . Lol he was so proud to bring it home to you. Than I really got to know you both on a spiritual basis in Pottstown. . I remember the rides we with Bob from there to get our jobs in Norristown. I remember on one occasion Lee and another brother were taking brother Moyer out of the Kh on an emergency and he stopped them and spoke wurh me about getting my act together and they shared some personal points I needed to work on and he said a brief prayer. . I will remember the live he showed for you all as the head of his family and his charming smile. . My prayers are with you always. . Jeremiah 29 11,12

I am praying for everyone! Death is an enemy and will be brought to nothing. 1 Corinthians 15 verse 26. We are longing for the time when death will be no more Revelations 21 verses 4 and 5. Jehovah promises he will do it. His words are faithful and true. Lee had strong faith in Jehovah and all of Jehovahs promises. We will see him again in the new world. May Jehovah bless the whole family help them to be strong in their time of need. I love you Marie my Sister.

Marie, my family and I will sorely miss our dear brother and friend. Lee was always kind and my kids loved him. While he is sleeping we will be waiting on Jehovah to fulfill what Jesus stated at John 11 verse 25
