Obituary

Keith William Archibald, 62, of Wescosville, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 8th, of natural causes. Born in Honesdale, PA. Keith was the son of William and Beverly (Musket) Archibald. He graduated from Parkland High School in 1982 and went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science degree in Public Policy from Penn State University, graduating in 1987. At this time, Keith met the love of his life, Carol (Gerlach) Archibald, of Mount Joy, PA. They were married in 1991 and have resided in the Lehigh Valley, since that time.

Keith had a sincere compassion for people and spent his career helping individuals in need. He was a civil servant to the residents of Pennsylvania, for just shy of 40 years. Nearly all of that time, he was employed by PA Department of Human Services, in the Lehigh County office. He served as a LCAO Union steward and later as LCAO Chief Shop Steward for SEIU Local 668, for over 10 years. He retired from PA state service, at the end of December 2025.

Keith and his wife enjoyed the company of several rescue dogs, during their life together. They brought him much joy. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. During his lifetime, Keith and his wife mentored an exceptional young man named Khrys Marrero, who became like family. This relationship was one of Keith's proudest accomplishments.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his mother and sisters, Dawn Archibald (Jhan) Vannetta, and Susan Archibald (Jay) King, all of Apex, NC, uncle, Roger (Edie) Musket of Mohnton, PA, father-in law and mother-in-law, John and Lorraine (Hackman) Gerlach, of Mount Joy, PA, brother-in-law, Daryl Gerlach (Karen), of Mount Joy, PA, brother-in-law, Doug Gerlach, of Manheim, PA, niece, Renae (William) DeBrock, of Apex, NC, nephew, Stefan Vannetta of NC, and nephews, Jonathan, Benjamin and Jeremiah Gerlach, of Mount Joy, PA.

He was truly loved and will be missed by all. Keith was a tissue donor and his corneas were harvested and will provide the gift of sight for two people. As per his wishes, his remains were cremated.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at a future date, when arrangements can be made to include out of state family members. Time and place will be announced at that time. Donations, in his memory, may be made to Feed the Children, Habitat for Humanity, World Central Kitchen or the animal shelter of your choice.
