Obituary

MUNDOK – Karl S., 73, of Johnstown, passed away on February 20, 2025. Born on January 30, 1952, in Johnstown, he was the beloved son of the late Charles F. and Helen (Fabry) Mundok.

Karl is survived by his devoted sister, Donna Server of North Wales; his sons, Adam Mundok and his wife, Cynthia, of Pittsburgh, and T.K. Mundok and his wife, Rebecca, of Springdale; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Balan and Phen.

A talented guitarist, Karl found joy in playing music and performing in rock bands throughout his younger years, most notably with Kindred Spirit. His love for rock ‘n’ roll never faded, and there was rarely a day when music wasn’t playing in his home.

Beyond his passion for music, Karl loved to cook and found joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. He especially treasured time spent with family, with the holidays holding a special place in his heart.

Karl was a devoted son, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. Known for his sharp wit and love of wordplay, he was always quick with a joke and had a playful sense of humor. Fiercely independent, he lived life on his own terms—unapologetically himself. Those who knew him loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Ozog’s Funeral Home in Johnstown on Sunday, March 2nd, from 2-4 PM, followed by a reception at VOMA from 4-6 PM.
