Obituary

Joseph Stewart Massee, known to many as Stu, of West Islip, New York, born September 2, 1936, died peacefully on October 14, 2025.

Joseph grew up in Atlanta and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He worked for Northrop Grumman for many years before retiring to pursue his many hobbies, which he loved: building computers, riding motorcycles, and tinkering with gadgets of all kinds. He also took great pride in caring for his home and yard.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Carey Massee; his mother, Sara Carter Massee; and his sister, Joanne Massee.

Survivors include his beloved daughter, Joanna Rosenthal (Lee), and three granddaughters, Shea, Sasha, and Jocelyn Rosenthal.

Services will be private, in keeping with his wishes. Donations may be made to the Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, whose care and kindness were deeply appreciated.
