Obituary

Joan A Grodziak, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, artistry, and boundless affection.

Her creative hands were rarely still. An avid crafter, Joan turned simple materials into sweet treasures for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each piece infused with her love and attention. Her home was also often filled with her latest handiwork.

When traveling became difficult, she delighted in seeing pictures of her loved ones and never missed a chance to keep in touch by telephone. Her calls always ended with her signature phrase: “I love you to the moon and back.”

Joan is survived by her son, Stephen (Jennifer) Price; her granddaughters, Tiffany Crane, Taylor (Corey) Wagner, Tori (Tyler) Correll, and Teagan Price; her grandson, Aidan Price; her treasured great-granddaughters, Layla Almodovar, Adalyn, Raya, Sylvia, and Peyton Wagner; and her sister Ellen (Spiro) Kontos.

She is reunited in peace with her parents, Thomas and Ellen Jones; her brother, Thomas Jones; and her beloved daughter, Jennifer Crane.

Joan’s life was a testament to the joys of exploration, the beauty of craft, and, above all, the enduring power of love. Her memory will be cherished by all whose lives she touched. As we remember Joan, we hold close her favorite farewell: “I love you to the moon and back.”
