Obituary

In the early morning of April 14, 2026, Goutham Hariharan passed away in Mitchell, Indiana. Goutham was 25 years old and would have turned 26 two weeks later.

Goutham was born in Redwood City, California, to Hariharan Shanmugam and Manju Hariharan on April 28, 2000. Goutham and his family moved to Malaysia when he was 2 years old, and he grew up there until he moved back to the United States for college. Goutham graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.

From a young age, Goutham had a knack for all sorts of machines that moved. He was fascinated by trains, cars, and especially rockets. As a child, he would spend hours on end drawing these machines and even building replicas with legos. Throughout his entire life, Goutham aspired to be an engineer and to use that knowledge to create something that he could be proud of.

Besides engineering, Goutham liked to draw, play video games, run, and watch TV shows. Goutham had a kind heart, tending to befriend those who felt outcast, and even turning vegetarian at age 13 out of compassion, despite loving meat. Even in his last weeks, Goutham did everything he could to ease the lives of his family that he was leaving behind.

Goutham will be dearly missed and not forgotten. May he find the rest and peace that he deserves.
