Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Richard Colvin, who departed this life on September 23, 2025, surrounded by love and family.

Donald was born on March 18, 1938, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Joseph Colvin and Mary McDade Colvin, who instilled in him the values of hard work, family, and kindness.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol Patrick Colvin, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion, and by his cherished daughter, Donna Ann Colvin, and grandson, Michael Lowenstein.

In his early years, Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he earned recognition as a marksman. After his military service, he devoted his career to working as an oil burner technician, a trade in which he was respected for his skill, reliability, and dedication. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built over the years.

Donald’s memory will be carried on by his surviving children: Donnie Colvin; James Colvin and his wife, Vita; Dawn Moore and her husband, Kevin; Belinda Mairowicz; and Susan O’Connor. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever treasure his love, stories, and guidance. He is also survived by his brothers, Leo Colvin and Eugene Colvin, who will remember him with love and fondness.

He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his enduring resilience through life’s challenges, and the warmth he shared with all who knew him. Donald’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to honor his life by cherishing the values he held dear.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Donald’s life, with a memorial gathering to be announced at a later date.

May he rest in peace, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
