In Loving Memory of Deidre Ann Copeland

July 4, 1961 – August 8, 2025

Deidre Ann Copeland made her grand entrance into the world on July 4, 1961, in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York. She was born to loving parents Eunice and Henry Copeland and was a proud graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Brooklyn.

Known affectionately as “Ms. Dee,” Deidre was the heart of her family and a second mother to many. Her love for her children and extended family knew no bounds. She had a generous spirit, a contagious laugh, and a fierce sense of loyalty. Her feisty personality and sharp wit made her unforgettable to all who knew her.

Deidre was a true survivor. She faced life's many challenges — including 9/11, a lung transplant, and numerous medical procedures — with grace, strength, and resilience.

She loved the thrill of a good true crime documentary, the wonders of sci-fi, and the joy of traveling. Whether she was caring for her loved ones, hunting down the perfect pair of sneakers, or adding to her jewelry collection, she lived life with style and purpose.

Deidre is survived by her beloved son, Daniel Tinsley, and her cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Luna Tinsley. She also leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles Goodridge, and her loving sister, Nadette Aronategui. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends across the East Coast and beyond.

A Memorial Service to honor Deidre’s life will be held:
