Obituary

Dawn Marie Retcho (nee Weakland) 59, passed away at her home in Mount Laurel, NJ on March 27, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Rahway, NJ.

Dawn spent her early years working in retail. She switched gears later in life and became a traveling operating room technician. This career transported her all over the country and she loved it!

Dawn was the loving wife of Steve Retcho, devoted mother of Kristin Chiaramonte (Pete), Faith Chiaramonte (Carlos), Logan Chiaramonte and step-mother to Jesse Retcho, Kara Tyler(Aian) and Mandy Retcho . She was a loving grandmother to Aiden, Jack, Alexandra and Chase with whom she enjoyed spending every minute. She also leaves behind her father, Richard Weakland, his wife, Carolyn, and her brothers Ricky Weakland (Maureen) and Jimmy Weakland (Connie). She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends and most especially by her adorable puppies, Daisy and Bon Bon. She was predeceased by her beautiful mother, Janice Weakland in 2010.

Dawn’s family will celebrate her life with a funeral mass at Saint Vincent Martyr Catholic Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ on Friday, April 4th at 12:45pm. Interment of ashes will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ directly following her funeral mass.
