Obituary

Christopher Petrie “Pete” Herrick passed away peacefully at age 75 on August 4, 2026, in Bethlehem, PA. He was born in Wescosville, PA, and worked as a computer systems manager for large companies such as Tal-star, ADM, IBM, and AT&T. He attended Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA; he earned his bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and his master’s degree from the University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. He lived in many locations across New Jersey, notably Princeton, Robbinsville, and New Brunswick, as well as short stints for work in Roswell, GA and Stratford, CT. In 2016, he and his family relocated to Macungie, PA, where he began work as a security guard at Mack Trucks. He would always joke when asked what he does for work: “I walk out of the guard shack and say ‘Yeah, that’s a truck!’ “

He is survived by his loving wife Denise (nee Garatino), daughters Kristen and Melissa, and sister Connie. He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Carleton Jr. and Ruth, and brother Carleton. His family wishes to thank St. Luke’s Brian D. Perin Hospice House for their care and compassion in the final hours of his life.
