Obituary

Barbara Eisenstodt Morit, of Cranford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026. She was born on January 22, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in Hillside, NJ and graduated Hillside High School where she formed lifelong relationships before eventually making Cranford her lifelong home.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved parents, Ann (nee Schwedsky) and Seymour "Cy" Eisenstodt and Jill's father, Gary Morit.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted daughter, Jill Morit who she loved unconditionally always; her brother, Richard Eisenstodt and his wife, Donna; and her sister, Freya Kendal and her husband, Barry. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Jesse Eisenstodt, Leigh Calica, Jake Eisenstodt, Beverly Eby, and Adam Kendal, as well as seven great-nieces and great-nephews, along with many beloved canine nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

Barbara dedicated 40 years being an educator. She was deeply committed to the students whose lives she touched, forming lasting relationships with many of them. Even years after they left her classroom, Barbara remained in contact with numerous former students, a testament to the kindness, encouragement, and genuine care she gave so freely. She had a special love for her dog, Bijou, who was a constant and cherished companion.

She loved to shop, she loved to wrap gifts perfectly. She treasured traveling to Italy and created many wonderful memories exploring its beauty, culture, and history. She also loved spending time in New York City, especially attending Broadway shows with her closest friends—experiences that brought her great joy, laughter, and lifelong memories. One of her greatest joys was her years spent at the Jersey shore with Jill,

family and friends. She often said those were the best days of her life.

Barbara will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her big heart, and her unwavering dedication to others specially her "Will". She made a lasting impact on her family, friends, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

A private memorial service will be held for family only.
