Maurice “Hackett” J. Houston, Jr, 62, of Eatontown, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. Maurice was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Eatontown in 1978. He was a graduate of Monmouth Regional High School, Class of 1980. He was a Project Manager for MG Group with a distinguished career of more than 20 years. Maurice also worked for Calton Home for many years. He was generous and kind gentlemen who enjoyed boating, golfing, gardening, and horse racing at Monmouth Park. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but mostly with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. Maurice was predeceased by his parents, Maurice J. and Florence T. Houston, and his sister, Colleen R. Houston. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey, son-in-law, Aaron, and grandsons, Ethan and Jacob; Three sisters, Diane and Florence Houston, Eleanor Slocum and her husband, Robert, all of Eatontown; one brother, Martin Houston and his wife, LaQuisha of Browns Mills, NJ; his girlfriend, Elaine Vallaster; nephews and nieces, Jason Davis, Ronald Sukeena, Robert Slocum and his wife, Jennifer, Dominque, Taylor, Natalie, Colin, and Gavin; great-nephews, Robert Connor and Aiden Christohpher Slocum. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, 9:30 -10:30 AM EST at St. Dorthea’s Roman Catholic Church, 240 Broad Street, Eatontown, NJ, 07724. Mass will immediately follow visitation.
