Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of William Throckmorton Brothers, age 77, a resident of Sun City Center, Florida, announce that he passed away at his residence on July 14, 2025. Born July 18, 1947 in Columbia, Missouri, Bill was the son of the late William Wesley and Ellyn Elizabeth (Throckmorton) Brothers. He went to Wayne High School in Dayton Ohio and attended the University of Missouri in 1966. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 and served 20 years, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Among the ships he served on, he was aboard the Navy destroyer ship USS Midway and participated in the Vietnam War including the evacuation of Saigon. He was employed by the US Postal Service from 1988 to 2014. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and going on cruises. He is survived by his son Darren Brothers, his stepson Andrew (Kristina) Hallgren, granddaughters Hayden Wallace and Aaliyah Hallgren; his sister Kay Ellyn (Brothers) Bussiere and her daughters Myrna (David) Montminy, Elizabeth (Dave) Donoho and their children; cousins Ellyn (Phil) Bess, and their sons Adam and Daniel (Kristina) Bess, along with their children and cousin Helen Throckmorton.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Kimberly Wallace.

Memorial services for Bill will be held on July 19, 2025 at 11 AM at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 14605 59th Ave. E, Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to The International Essential Tremor Foundation (PO Box 14005, Lenexa, Kansas 66285)
