Sharon M. Bumbaugh, 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 30, 1953, in Chambersburg, Sharon was the daughter of the late Luther D. Wiley and thelate Helen (Peggy) Rhone. Though her biological mother was absent from infancy, Sharon was raised with the love of her stepmother, the late Delores M. Wiley, who ensured Sharon was included right beside her siblings. Sharon grew up in Scotland, PA, under the care of her paternal grandmother, the late Clemence Pierce Wiley, whom Sharon later cared for until her passing.
Sharon's heart belonged to her family she found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, going on road trips, and shopping. She cherished the quiet moments of nature, especially watching the deer emerge from the tree line at dusk and disappear back into the woods at dawn.
She is remembered by her daughters, Tracy Reeder (Tommy) and Tammy Plumer; her grandchildren, Josh Rickard (Partner Abby Michael), Jason Rickard, and Taylor Reeder; and her step-grandchildren, Haley and Anna Plumer. She is also survived by her siblings: Rick Wiley (Theresa), Beverly Foltz (Jim), Jeffrey Wiley (Tammy), Timothy Wiley (Morgan), and Darryl Wiley (Wendy), along with long-time family friends, Bob and Nancy Statler.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Sharon M. Bumbaugh, 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born in Chambersburg on July 30, 1953, Sharon was the daughter of the late Luther D. Wiley and late Helen (Peggy) Rhone. While her biological mother was absent from infancy, she was raised with the love of her stepmother, the late Delores M. Wiley, who ensured Sharon was included right beside her siblings. Sharon spent her childhood in Scotland, PA, under the care of her paternal grandmother, the late Clemence Pierce Wiley, Sharon later cared for her grandmother until her passing.
Sharon found her greatest happiness in road trips, shopping excursions, and every moment spent with her grandchildren. She also held a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of nature, particularly the sight of deer stepping out from the trees at twilight and returning to the woods at dawn.
She is remembered by her two daughters, Tracy Reeder (Tommy) and Tammy Plumer; her grandchildren, Josh Rickard (partner Abby Michael), Jason Rickard, and Taylor Reeder; and her step-grandchildren, Haley and Anna Plumer. She also leaves behind her siblings: Rick Wiley (Theresa), Beverly Foltz (Jim), Jeffrey Wiley (Tammy), Timothy Wiley (Morgan), and Darryl Wiley (Wendy), as well as her long-time friends, Bob and Nancy Statler.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuckie” Luckett, as well as her father and stepmother.
In keeping with Sharon's wishes, she was cremated, and no public service will be held.
