Obituary

(October 4th, 1949 - October 19th, 2025)

Roy DeMarco passed away on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at his home in Woodbridge. He was 76 years old.

Born in Elizabeth on October 4th, 1949, to the late Albert and Odette DeMarco, he was raised in Linden and moved to Woodbridge in 1991 when he was 42 years old.

He was employed by various trucking companies in the region and spent many decades driving to supply materials to construction sites and roadwork projects throughout New Jersey. Outside of his career, he devoted his musical talents to composing and writing lyrics for ensembles made up of family and friends. His music was heard by audiences all throughout his lifetime and continues to be performed by members of his family.

He was a passionate rider of Harley Davidson motorcycles and routinely kept the culinary traditions of his mother alive with his cooking of delicious meals for his family. Christmas dinner was always marked by his special lasagna, and he could be found making Italian gravy on any Sunday. Roy’s prowess in the kitchen was defined by addictive smells, distant humming, and metallic clanging.

Roy was married to Kelli Davin-DeMarco in 1996 and began a family in 1998. He made his love of pets evident with his tenure of seven dogs and four cats during his time in Woodbridge. His charity for animals was infectious and instilled a long love for them within his family. On top of his legacy of pets, his natural ability to crack a joke at any moment kept his home alive and warm. Anyone he came into contact with could attest to his humor, and the joy he spread with his quick wit. His ability to connect with people through laughs was best found on display at the Woodbridge QuickChek where he developed a legendary status as a customer and friend. His day was never complete without his cup of coffee, throwing food scraps to his dogs, and cooking dinner for his wife and children.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Joseph DeMarco, and many beloved family, friends, and pets.

Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Kelli Davin-DeMarco, son, Roy Micheal DeMarco Jr., anddaughter Gianna Rose DeMarco; brothers Albert DeMarco and James DeMarco, sisters-in-law, Stacey Roy, Margaret Sisko, Carol DeMarco, Rhonda DeMarco, Michelle DeMarco, and mother-in-law Arlene Davin. His nephews Darren DeMarco, Bradley Roy, Kaleb, Albie, and Samuel DeMarco, David and Jake DeMarco, and nieces Elisa DeMarco, Hayley Roy, Melody DeMarco, and Virginia DeMarco.
