Obituary

Ned Speizer died on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the hospital in East Brunswick, NJ. He was 73 years old. Mr. Speizer was born in Greenville, S.C. but was raised in and resided in NJ from age 1 on. He was a resident of Brick, NJ for 25 years, and spent most of the rest of his life in East Brunswick, NJ.

He graduated from East Brunswick High School in 1969, then attended college at Newark College of Engineering, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. He worked 95% of his career as an environmental engineer with the last 16 years at Merck & Co. Inc., retiring in 2005 at age 53. He was proudest of remediating several contaminated sites such that they could be used for any purpose.

Mr. Speizer is survived by his two sons, Steve and Scott; brother Jim; and sisters Donna, Lori and Kathy; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ned loved to travel across America and around the world. He loved America's National Parks. He was an avid photographer taking thousands and thousands of pictures documenting his travels, then selecting the best and organizing them into beautiful travelogue notebooks.

All services are private. The family requests that memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made in Ned's name to the American Heart Association.
