Obituary

Marlene Potts (nee Hyde), age 85, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026 from complications due to vascular dementia.

Marlene was born on September 28, 1940 in Hayes, England (UK). She moved with her family to the US as a teenager and settled in Monmouth County, NJ where she lived the rest of her life, mostly in Morganville. She worked in the title insurance industry after raising her three children JoAnn, Jimmy and John.

Marlene loved all things English and was extremely proud of her heritage. She took many vacations to England to see her family and always loved to discuss anything English, including the Royal Family. English TV shows were her favorite. You could always find her enjoying a cup of tea and snacking on Maltesers.

Marlene is survived by her daughter JoAnn Mazzocchi and husband Tony of Albrightsville, PA, son John Potts and wife Andrea of Rockaway, NJ as well as granddaughters Nicole, Ashley and Amber, grandsons Andrew, Ethan and Liam and great grandchildren Livia, Luca, Robert and Keegan.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene’s name can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
