Obituary

Jonathan Richard Steiner, age 43, of Blain, PA, passed away on August 31, 2026.

Born on May 15, 1983, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Jonathan was the beloved son of James Steiner and Brenda Darlene Steiner (Gilmore).

Jonathan will be remembered for how much he loved his boys. He felt he was born to be a father and took great pride in being a wonderful dad. Jonathan was a self-made entrepreneur and owned a successful trucking business.

He especially enjoyed rockets, SpaceX, and the Falcon 9. He was also a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Dallas Cowboys. Jonathan cherished spending time with his four dogs—two Pit Bulls and two Great Danes: Luna, Millie, Bella, and Patches. He loved sharing his Cheez-Its and peanut butter crackers with them.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Brenda Darlene Steiner; his twin brother, Christopher Middleton Steiner; his three children, Stephen Thomas Steiner, Aiden David Steiner, and Colton Michael Steiner; his uncle, Jeff Gilmore; his two beautiful nieces, Sophia Steiner and Harlow “Roo” Steiner; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, James Steiner; his brother, Jamez Steiner; his son, Bradley James Steiner; his uncle, Stephen Gilmore; his adopted father, David Oughton; his maternal grandparents; and his beloved dog, Marmaduke “Duke,” who was his best friend and cherished companion.

A celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held in October 2027. Family and friends will be notified once a date has been set. As part of the celebration, Jonathan’s ashes will be sent to space through the Space Beyond Ashes to Space Program, honoring his love of rockets and space exploration.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local Great Dane or dog rescue in Jonathan’s memory.

Jonathan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
