Obituary
Frank Robert Delfino, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 14, 2026.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, before relocating to Staten Island, where he lived for 15 years. He was a resident of the Somerset County area in New Jersey since 1989.
Frank had a long and accomplished career in the construction industry, working on projects throughout the Northeast, including the iconic Citicorp Center in Manhattan. He took great pride in his work and the buildings he helped build.
He was a family man; spending time with them on Long Beach Island, at Sunday dinners, and everyone calling him “Grandpa.” Frank was so proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments, cheering them on from small ages through adulthood.
He loved playing card games—particularly pinochle, although he would jokingly say, “I hate this game”. He invited his children and grandchildren to watch, learn, and eventually play; albeit losing to them every so often.
Frank was someone you could always count on. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, fix whatever was broken, or step in with guidance and support. A father figure to many, regardless of relation, he will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, and love for his family. At the end of every party, you could count on him singing, “the party’s over…the dance is through!”
Frank was predeceased by his father, John Delfino, in 1986; his mother, Francis “Faye” Delfino, in 1989; his siblings, Tony, and Marie; and his beloved Akita, Kuma.
He is survived, loved, and deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Delfino; their three children, Diane, John, and Nancy; his six grandchildren, Christina, Nicole, Natalie, Jillian, Frankie, and Madison; and his sisters, Patricia and Susan.
Interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ, will be private.
