Obituary

Christine "Chris" Carter-Domingos, 77, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Born on August 13, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, Chris was the beloved daughter of Jack and Delia Domingos. She was known for her kind, funny, and loving nature, qualities that remained a hallmark throughout her life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Chris found her greatest joy in being a grandmother and in spending time with her family. She cherished gatherings filled with good food, laughter, and the people she loved most. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family created a legacy of love that will continue for generations.

Chris is survived by her daughters, Kelly Honhart and her husband, Steve, and Denise Porter and her husband, Ray; her brother, Joe Domingos and his wife, Deb; her sister, Donna Kumka aka Cookie and her husband, Norm; four beloved grandchildren; and two nephews, all of whom she was immensely proud of and cared for deeply.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Pines of Sarasota for the tremendous care, compassion, and support they provided during the last few years of Chris's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Pines of Sarasota in Chris's memory.

Chris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, sense of humor, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
