Barbara M. Kindrew

Barbara M. Kindrew, 76, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, including her daughter Cheryl; sons David and John; grandsons David and Fiancé Jessica and Ricky; granddaughter Mackenzie; and great-granddaughters Alanna and Aria.

Born on August 7, 1950, Barbara lived a life centered on family, friendship, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl A. Kindrew of Easton, Pennsylvania, who cared for and supported her throughout her life and helped create countless treasured memories. She is also survived by her sons, John Horack and his wife Pam of Alpha, New Jersey, and David Horack of Easton, Pennsylvania; and her daughter, Lisa of Easton, Pennsylvania.

Barbara was a proud grandmother to David F. Barndt and his fiancée, Jessica Zullo, Richard (Ricky) F. Barndt III, Mackenzie, Corey, Nichole, Chad, Jarod, and Brianna. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Alanna, Amya, Averie, Aria, and Little Ricky. Barbara eagerly anticipated the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Aliza Mae-Ann Barndt, who is expected in February 2027. Her family finds comfort in believing that Aliza crossed paths with Barbara on her journey to Earth as Barbara began her journey to eternal peace.

Barbara shared a special bond with her grandson David, his fiancée Jessica, and her grandson Ricky, all of whom played active roles in her life and brought her much joy and companionship. She was especially close to her great-granddaughter Alanna Michele Barndt. Together, they formed an inseparable team, creating cherished memories and sharing a unique bond that brought laughter to the family, often playfully teaming up against Cheryl.

One of 21 children born to Frank and Mary Kindrew, Barbara came from a remarkably large family. Although she never married, she shared many years with Paul B. Horack, who preceded her in death. She was later blessed to spend many happy years with Vernon Ray, who also preceded her in death.

Barbara and Vernon enjoyed traveling throughout the East Coast together. She looked forward to monthly visits to the Avona Social Club with her daughter Cheryl, grandsons David and Ricky, and Jessica. Many family gatherings also included her great-granddaughters Alanna, Amya, Averie, and Aria, and grandson Ricky creating memories that she treasured.

She enjoyed camping and fishing at Keen Lake, taking walks in the park, enjoying picnics with her companion Dean, and spending time outdoors. Barbara loved scratch-off lottery tickets, watching horror movies with great granddaughter Aria, and tuning in to the Game Show Network. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially sitting by her window watching deer pass through the yard and enjoying the beauty of every season and every kind of weather.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. While her presence leaves an irreplaceable void, the love, laughter, and memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 4th, 2026 at the Avona Volunteer Fire Co 2360 Front St Easton PA 18042 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
