Larry Mitchell Newman, born in Philadelphia, PA on March 15, 1951, entered his eternal rest on August 29, 2022. Beloved husband of 25 years to Cynthia Gerke Newman, Larry resided in Bucks County, PA and Lawrenceville, NJ much of his adult life. His family, sons and daughters-in-law Matthew and Jessy (Hughes) Newman and Jared and Erin (Paukert) Newman, daughter and son-in-law Jenna (Newman) and Peter Renaud, son Zack Newman, grandchildren Gwen, Sarah, Will, Charlie and Alice, and extended family and friends will never forget his love of Penn State University, passion for running and ever-present sense of humor. Larry was a graduate of Philadelphia’s Northeast High School, Penn State University (BSBA, PhD), and Drexel University (MBA). He was deeply committed to higher education, serving on the Bucks County Community College Board of Trustees (1990-2007), on the Association of Governing Boards Committee of Board Chairs, and in several roles at Rider University including Special Assistant to the President, Dean of the College of Business, and Marketing Department Chair and faculty member. The joy and laughter that came to characterize him were a testament to his living faith in Jesus, coming to know Him as his personal savior in 2001. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 17 at Crossing Community Church, 80 Lower Silver Lake Road, Newtown, PA at 10:30 AM with visitation with the family beginning at 9:00 AM and immediately following the service at their home where a “White Out” tailgate will be held in his honor and the Penn State football game will be available for viewing.
