It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Judith “Judy” Diane Donker, 86, who left us on November 25, 2024. Judy was born on June 7, 1938, in Watertown, New York, to Meryl and George Maurer. She had one sister, Barbara Jo and a brother, Clarkson Robert as well as many nieces and nephews. She married George H. Donker on October 10, 1959. They had just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. They resided in Detroit, Michigan and later moved to Livonia Michigan in 1962. In August of 1978, a job promotion moved them to Westerville, Ohio. And yet, another job promotion found the family moving to Middletown, New Jersey in 1983. Judy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She cherished every celebration and supported them through their challenges. She loved painting her ceramics which she shared with each of us to be enjoyed for years to come. She is survived by her husband, George and her 5 children Cheryl Lacey of Durand, Michigan, Pamela Thompson and her husband Craig, of Middletown, New Jersey, George Donker and his wife Tina, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Kris Donker and his wife Cathy, of Parkland, Florida and Tracy Blitzer and her husband Chuck, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren Krystal Recker, Scott Recker, Lauren Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Alexa Hughes, Cierra Ash, Jason Donker, Devon Blitzer and Matt Blitzer; 6 great grandchildren Jersey Recker, Cooper Hughes, Phoenix Hughes, Selah Hughes, Pepper Hughes and Jack Hughes. Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. The commemoration and celebration of her life will be held once our father can join her because, as in life, their journeys and hearts were bound together from the first moment they met- as my dad says, “she is my life.” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure.
