Josefina Alvarado died on May 1st, 2020. Before her retirement she was a nurses aid for 30 years at Palisade Nursing Center in Guttenberg, NJ. She came to the United States in 1967 from Colombia, South America. While living in the United States she became a citizen, received an eduction, purchased a home and learned to speak English fluently. A true example of the American dream. She is survived by her two sons Dario and Hernando Alvarado. Josefina was a kind and loving person who loved her children and was a devoted wife and mother. Josefina was known to give to many nonprofit organizations as well as help others in need. Josefina was a devout Christian and believed in forgiveness, compassion, patience and the Christian work ethic. Those that visited her were always received with a smile on her face and a place at the table for all who were hungry. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.
