The family and loved ones of Ezell (E-Zee, Billy) Jackson would like to inform you of his passing on Monday 3/27/23 at the age of 74 after a long illness. Ezell was preceded in death by his parents Rosie Lee Jackson, Ezell Jackson Sr., his stepfather James Jackson, and his sister Sarah Jackson-Cashwell. Ezell was born in Mobile Alabama on July 31, 1949, he relocated with his family to Plainfield NJ in his youth. Ezell attended Plainfield High School, and after graduating from high school he served in the US military. After his military service Ezell attended prestigious art schools in New York city, Ezell was an avid artist whose work was highlighted and showcased at several venues, Ezell also won several art awards, and was a showcased artist at the Plainfield in the Park art showcase on three occasions. Ezell relocated to Florida to pursue and further his boxing career, he quickly moved up the local and states boxing heavy weight ranks, Ezell eventually fought for the Florida state heavy weight championship before relocating back to NJ. Ezell is survived by his beloved partner of many year Bernice Hawkins, his son Christopher Fisher, his daughter Crystal Jackson, his brothers Jim Jackson, Darrell Jackson, Anthony Jackson, sisters Maggie Jackson, and Sharon Eaton. Ezell also is survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family, friends, and loved ones to mourn his transition. The family and loved ones of Ezell would like to thank Aristacare at Norwood for the care he received during his long illness, and for the hospice care they provided for Ezell during his transition. A memorial and remembrance ceremony will be held for Ezell Jackson at the Mohawk Lodge (Elks 1357) in Plainfield on April 15th 2023, from 1pm thru 4pm.
