David Ezekiel Ramsey, beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend, passed away July 1st, 2024, after a long battle with brain cancer. Dave loved his family deeply and fiercely: his wife Sherry, daughter LeeAnn Koenig (John), son Andrew (Ali), grandchildren John and Courtney Koenig, Shannon (Koenig) Boardman (Chip), Kendall and Claire (aka PeeWee) Ramsey and Owen Boardman, the great-grandson he never met. He was a wonderful brother to Barbara Lolik, Dick Ramsey (Judy), and Sue Carlson-Marion. He was dedicated to his family and was insistent that they stay connected. He spent hours with his nephew Jeff and his wife Donna planning, organizing and setting up the annual Ramsey-Carlson Family and Friends reunion. Whatever needed doing, Dave was there to help. He could do mechanical work, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and welding; all mostly self-taught. He could fix almost anything but if he ran into a roadblock, he would “ponder” and “engineer” a solution. Dave was passionate about the outdoors and spent many hours camping and fishing with Sherry, in-laws Helen and Al, sisters-in-law Lorrie and Cindy and brothers-in law Skip and Dave. He also delighted in teaching his children LeeAnn and Andy about the outdoors, camping and fishing as they were growing up. Dave loved hunting with Al, Skip and Dave as well as with his many hunting buddies. One of his favorite things to do was sit around the table, drink coffee and tell hunting stories – sometimes about the one that got away! Most of all, Dave was a man of honor and integrity. He was funny, full of laughter, kind and charming (yes, charming!). He could have told someone to go to hell, and they would have enjoyed the trip! If you were lucky enough to know Dave, you know JUST how lucky you are.
