Colette Mary Tarsan (Petrillo) passed away peacefully in her home, with the sun shining, on March 22, 2024. Colette was born to Anthony and Rita Petrillo on February 26, 1969. She graduated from Middlesex High School and continued her education at Katherine Gibbs School. She went on to fulfill a long career as an Executive Assistant for Congressman Matthew Rinaldo, BellSouth and Metrus Group. She was most recently employed as a Senior Specialist of Compliance at Insmed. There, she was also the founder and chair of the employee resource group for working parents and caregivers. Colette was treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering and despite her diagnosis, led a very bright, vivacious life. She most enjoyed crafting, jigsaw puzzles and traveling. Her favorite travel destination was Florence, Italy, where she visited her daughter during her semester studying abroad. Memories made with family and friends held a special place in Colette’s heart. Colette is predeceased by her father, Anthony (Sonny). She is survived by her mother, Rita, husband Mark, daughter Kayla, brother Carmen and his wife Michelle, niece Gabrielle, and many more loved ones. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, 600 Harris Ave, Middlesex, NJ 08846, on Friday, April 12, 2024 beginning at 11am. To honor Colette’s lust for life, she requested that her friends and family gather in a celebration, which will be held at the American Legion Post 306, 707 Legion Place, Middlesex, NJ 08846, on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 12pm to 4pm.
